institution
Talikala is a nongovernmental organization located in Davao City, Philippines that runs for women and children who were victims of prostitution and human trafficking. The institution offers programs that help its beneficiaries through assisting in their social, physical, and psychological needs.

“Breaking the Chains of Exploited Women” means that Talikala frees abused women and children suffering from the chains that bind them, such as sexual abuse and human trafficking, providing different programs and activities that help them get back up and move on with their lives.

Statistics
Today, domestic violence is the leading cause of injury among women between the ages of 15 and 44, with women being beaten every 15 seconds, usually by relatives. Women who often experience abuse can also lead to various emotional problems. They also have to deal with the issues of losing their jobs, homes, religious communities, and even their children due to violence. Furthermore, vulnerable women and children are susceptible to sexual exploitation or sexual abuse online.
